-- Two CTF Representatives to Act as Observers --

OTTAWA: The Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) will send two representatives to the United Alternative Convention (February 19-21) in Ottawa. Troy Lanigan (CTF National Communications Director and BC Provincial Director) will join Walter Robinson (CTF Federal Director) at the United Alternative meeting later this month.

CTF representatives frequently attend political conventions as observers. "We take every opportunity to press our message of lower taxes, less waste and greater accountability with political leaders of all stripes," said Walter Robinson.

Although the United Alternative meeting does not allow convention goers to officially register as "observers" both Mr. Robinson and Mr. Lanigan will uphold the spirit of that designation by refraining from voting or participating in open debate or plenary sessions.

"While political in that the CTF advocates policies on behalf of our 80,000 supporters we are not partisan in supporting candidates or parties," added Lanigan. "CTF staff and Board members are prohibited from holding a membership card in any political party."
